Masayang nagseselfie at kwentuhan.

Sarap!

HAND SIGNS for MY IDENTITY

Since I have started my campaign in #friendniKIM, I have met different kind of people from different walks of life. I have tried taking pictures of different social classes of people. One thing that I have observed are their ways of making hand signs as I photographed them.

Their are some hand signs that almost all classes of people are using. There are also some hand signs that I have commonly observed to certain group of people only. For my own benefit, I made research of these hand signs. I find it quite interesting yet you need to be cautious in making hand signs especially in front of other people whom you have no background for they may find it offending on their side. To be safe just do the PEACE sign (Letter V).

People are using hand signs to indicate their affiliation. Sometimes they show numbers and letters using their fingers. So, it is good to have at least ample knowledge of what these hand signs mean.

Parents, you might find your child also doing same hand signs in their photos. Please check it out. Here, you will know if your child is affiliated to certain teenage groups.

In some cities of America like NYC, police also are well oriented not only the hand signs but also their own slang language to represent their certain identity, promote camaraderie and for their clandestine plots against the other group. Example:

The crab got a biscuit and is drinking the bumble bee’s milk.

Translation: a Crip gang member has a gun and is looking to kill a Latin King rival.

Therefore folks, we need to be aware of our gesture. Let’s be sensitive enough to others culture and always show gestures of respect. We are no good to judge others too through their hand signs. One thing I am sure, Peace sign is the best sign of all signs.

Elizabeth Ramsey dies at 83. http://www.philstar.com

It’s unsual that I write a blog with showbiz theme but I cannot let this moment passed not giving an honor to one of the pillars of Philippine Comedy Entertainment, Ms. Elizabeth Ramsey. She is second to the Comedy King, Dolphy, of the Philippine comedy movies. I usually chose movies with Ms. Elizabeth Ramsey as the main character or just even one of the featured artists in the movie.

According to the report singer and comedienne Elizabeth Ramsey, also known  “Queen of Rock and Roll,” passed away on Thursday at the age of 83. August 2015 when Ramsey was rushed to the Philippine Heart Center after she suffered a stroke.

It was Jaya who posted via Facebook about the sad news.

Jaya posted: “Mama Beth is now with our Lord… 83 years has been full. Love and laughter, she has given not just our family but the whole nation.”

In her other posts, Jaya thanked those who have been praying for her mom.

“Thank you for your love and prayers and I rejoice because she passes in her sleep. In peace. In God’s loving arms. Bye mama, until we meet again. I love you forever. Thank you Jesus,” she said.

Ramsey began her showbiz career when she became part of  the singing contest of the noontime show “Student Canteen” in her teenage years.

After then, Ramsey became one of the performers at the Manila Grand Opera House. She then transferred to the Clover, where she worked with some of the country’s top comedians at the time like Aruray, Balot and Casmot. [2]

My last glance of her was when she visited the ABS-CBN when Melai Cantiveros impersonated her in Your Face Sounds Familiar. Rest in Peace Ms. Eizabeth Ramsey. Wala kang katulad sa pagbibigay saya sa madla.
